Carmel-by-the-Sea is one of the most beautiful towns in the country, hands down, no question. I absolutely love Northern California, and Monterey, Carmel, and San Francisco are some of my favorite places on earth. The area is stunning and filled with life. Randy and I stayed in a cottage near the Carmel River State Park and Carmel Beach, with a view of Mission Ranch through the wetlands a few years back, and every day was a revelation of beauty, color, and change. I am ready to go back!

I lived in Carmel for a while. It was, well,a little too precious for me–too many tourists, etc. But of course, lovely. It’s fun to walk the little beach and also Ocean Ave is always interesting for people watching.

Yes, the tourism is probably an issue. It is just so beautiful. October was the perfect time to be there.

We just returned from a trip their last weekend. The landscape is truly breathtaking. I will say that downtown is so full of tourists that is feels like Disneyland. It is a shame. Your photos are so lovely.

During our October trip hardly any tourists were present in Carmel or in Monterey. It was heavenly!
