The whale watching in Cabo during March was incredible! Humpback Whales are Ginormous, as Buddy the Elf would say. They are such fun whales to watch because they are so active, so curious, and always lively. Few things on the ocean are more exciting than a Humpback breach! While staying in Cabo San Lucas I went out with Whale Watch Cabo, and our guide, Lisa Hofmann, was awesome! There’s really no way to tell the story of the gorgeous Humpback Whales other than to do so in photos.
All photos were taken by Lisa Hofmann.

It is a treasure located two hours by boat from La Paz, aka “the Pearl”. (There used to be a lively pearl fishery here, but it is now all fished out. Just another reminder of why we need to practice sustainability!) La Paz has a statue along the Malecon, aka Boardwalk in English, that has a pearl in a shell. The best scuba diving in Cozumel might surprise you! I’ve been diving here for longer than I want to admit (30 years!), but there is always something new! That is always exciting for divers. Cozumel is famous for incredible, towering pinnacles of coral, so beautiful and so colorful it is a wonder to see. Turtles, eels, nurse sharks, fish…and the amazing drift diving is always a draw. When the Cozumel drift is just right, you barely have to kick, drifting happily down the reef, where the boat will always be waiting to pick you up. Fabulous! But there’s another side to scuba diving in Cozumel. It’s not quite muck diving, but it is the next best thing, looking for the little critters! How many frog fish and seahorses have you seen scuba diving in Cozumel? These sites are a photographer’s dream!
