Our wonderful Thanks Giving this year!

Tonight is Christmas Eve, and while we are not having our usual big bash, we will still number over 20!  What a year.  We are grateful that Randy is here with us, having survived a double lung transplant and 3 months in the ICU.  We have gained with the birth of Bodie Torres Koye, 3rd child of Jessica Torres Koye and Stevan Koye.  Tonight we remember my mother, Jean Warner, who passed in June; and Gene Jacoby, who passed in March.  Gene’s companion, Paula, also left us in March.  2013 has been a tumultuous year, full of ups and downs, but that is life. We will celebrate while we can!

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.  ~Laura Ingalls Wilder”

Here are some photos of the season, and Merry Christmas to all!

Welcome Bodie!

and a few more words of wisdom:

Roses are reddish
Violets are bluish
If it weren’t for Christmas
We’d all be Jewish.
~Benny Hill

In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it ‘Christmas’ and went to church; the Jews called it ‘Hanukkah’ and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank.  People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukkah!’  or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!’  ~Dave Barry, “Christmas Shopping:  A Survivor’s Guide”
