How Do You Decide Where You Will Travel in 2019?

How do you decide? Do you plan far in advance, or are you a spur of the moment type of person?

My first step on Antarctic soil was a dream come true!

If I lean one way or another, it is to plan far in advance, but I’m always up for spontaneity! When you are an advance planner, you do tend to miss out on some of last minute trips!

Our Viking Cruise was one of the best trips ever! Suzanne of Adventures of Empty Nesters and I LOVED our experiences!

As to planning where I’m going to travel, I do have some priorities. I look first to citizen science dive trips, and sadly, there won’t be a Ray of Hope Expedition for me this year. There are other organizations, so you can be sure I will look at those trips, and if I don’t find one, I will always take ID photographs and fish surveys wherever I dive. I do have a 12 Day Ray of Hope trip scheduled for 2020! After I look at those trips, I look for places I have not been, and there are plenty of those! Alison Abbot of Green with Renvy recently posted an article called Top Twenty Baby Boomer Dream Destinations, in which I am featured. My dream destination? A small ship cruise in Alaska!!! I would love that. Or an incredible expedition to the Arctic. As to other trips this year, I have my own expedition with Red Travel Mexico to the Baja to see Gray Whales and Whale Sharks! There is still space, so jump onboard to see the Baja like you’ve never seen it before! Before and after the trip I am still deciding what to do…I’d like to do a resort review and maybe a bit of diving? We shall see! Or an incredible expedition to the Arctic. I should start booking that, don’t forget to stay safe and saavy when you book! You never know what discounts you can find.

The last trip I co sponsored was also to the Baja! It was a fantastic trip which included Janet of GoLearnThings!
Balandra Bay in the Baja

April will take me to Big Bend National Park, and a 4 day tour through the towns nearby. I will be visiting Marathon, Terlingua, and Lajitas. I’ll be attending the Sotol Festival in Terlingua which should be exciting! May will find me in Cozumel, diving and eating and sleeping and repeating! Other trips are half formed ideas right now, I am still looking around for opportunities.

Have travel plans for 2019? Where are you going? I’d love to hear about it!
