There are many Cozumel All Inclusive Resorts, but why not stay at a Cozumel vacation home instead? Staying in a vacation home gives you more privacy, the ability to explore the island, and an opportunity to try different restaurants and cuisines. Don’t look at just any vacation home, let me show you Villa Coronado, my Cozumel vacation home!
My husband Randy and I built our dream vacation home in 1999, and it was finished in 2000. Watching the build was a hoot, sometimes funny, sometimes not, but always interesting! At that time they were mixing concrete by hand, and it went bucket by bucket! We built in Cozumel because of the fantastic diving, friendly locals, and because they put a main road through the jungle which greatly diminished traffic on the coastal road. We bought the land from our best friends (they too have a Cozumel vacation home called Villa Torres), and we built the houses together, side by side. Since then, the road in front of our dream house, Villa Coronado, has become one way, which we love. We are walking distance from Chankanaab Park, The Cabana Beach, and The Money Bar. The Villa is South of the town, but not so far south that it takes 30 or 40 minutes to drive into town for the grocery or dinner. We can get to town by car in 10-15 minutes. There are some fantastic restaurants on the island as well as other fun activities, and you could miss out if you stay at a busy Cozumel All Inclusive.
We wanted not only a vacation home for ourselves and our family, but for rental when we weren’t using it. Young children were at home, and we knew we wouldn’t use it more than a couple of months a year. Villa Coronado was built with the utmost comfort in mind, with 4 Master Bedroom suites with private bathrooms, 2 Living Areas, a full Kitchen and Dining Room, and a lot of outdoor living space. We have a large piece of land so we built far enough back from the road and ocean so we wouldn’t worry about storms or cars. There is a beautiful pool deck, a shaded veranda and an ample lounging area with space for a grill. I have spent the last few months doing a lot of updating. My daughter is going to take another set of professional photos in early December, so exciting! Until then, the updates I will show you are just simple photos taken by me.
The summer of 2019 has been spent painting Villa Coronado inside and out, and replacing air conditioners. Villa Coronado has Central Air and the entire home is cooled which is a benefit several Cozumel homes do not have. Many Cozumel vacation homes are air conditioned in the bedrooms only. A new garage palapa was built big enough for two vehicles, and there is more parking.
Our roof is a fantastic feature of Villa Coronado. It is equipped with a shower, electricity, and provides incredible views for sunsets and star gazing. Hammocks are always hanging on the roof Palapa, and it is easy to fall asleep for the night while enjoying the breeze off the ocean. What a fabulous benefit for a Cozumel Vacation Home!
Villa Coronado is a Cozumel Vacation Home listed on both Airbnb and VRBO. The villa sleeps 10, so imagine a couples trip, girl’s trip, guy’s trip, family vacation, yoga retreat or destination wedding! We’ve had them all! Or you can be like Randy and I, one couple enjoying the privacy of Villa Coronado! Book your dream trip to Cozumel now, not at a Cozumel All Inclusive, but at Villa Coronado, a beautiful Cozumel vacation home!
