San Diego is a dream destination as there are few cities that can compare in sheer beauty and accessibility to the ocean. I actually did see, for the first time, a couple of days of rain in San Diego in December. It only added atmosphere to the locations I wanted to visit. Of course, the first consideration on any trip is where to stay. I wanted to do something a little different, so I searched for smaller, boutique hotels on the water, and I found a true hidden gem on Pacific Beach, the Pacific Terrace Hotel!

That’s when the Yogi Bear-themed parks offer a variety of fall and pre-Halloween activities from making caramel apples and scarecrows to costume, campsite, and pumpkin-decorating contests to trick-or-treating.
