I do have a few trips planned for 2016, but I need to do some more travel planning! Any ideas?
In January, I am headed to Lake Tahoe to see the lake in the snow…and, of course, to gamble. I am hoping my cousin will come along and that my friend from Sacramento will meet me for a day or so. Thank you, Caesar’s Group!
February will take me to the Revillagadoes Islands to dive with Humpback Whales, Giant Mantas, Dolphins, Sharks, and hopefully, a whale shark! The diving there has been incredible as the whale season gets started. 9 days of diving on the Solmar V! I cannot wait!
Early March will take me to Kentucky where my niece is expecting her first baby! Mid-March I am off to California for the Women In Travel Summit in Orange County, California and I plan to stay a while after the conference.ย Randy and I are planning to drive from Dallas to California,ย checking out a few sights along the way. I love Orange County and plan to show you why! I’m planning fine dining, luxurious hotels, water sports, and who knows what else? There is always something going on in Orange County.
Late June and July takes me to Australia, Bali, and a Citizen Science dive trip with Marine Megaafauna Foundation‘s Dr Andrea Marshall (Queen of Mantas) in Komodo, Indonesia on the luxurious Arenui! I am so excited for this one…I have never been to Indonesia! I am still trying to figure out where to stay and dive in Bali, and also on the Great Barrier Reef.
So…where else should I go? I would love to go to Europe, and Antarctica. Oh, and Morocco and Israel. And on an African safari. And Japan. Palau. Canada! Can you believe I have never been to Canada? I lived 3 hours from the border until I was twenty, and never went. I still haven’t seen so many of our beautiful national parks! Yosemite and Yellowstone are a must see. Oh, and Alaska! I must go to Alaska. We’d need a small ship though, since my husband’s double lung transplant his immune system isn’t great, so a large ship isn’t possible. Randy definitely wants to see Alaska. Montana? Jackson Hole? I want to see a big Moose. A live one. And a wolf. And a bear.
I want to go to Britain and follow the footsteps of Richard III, the Plantagenet King who was killed in 1485 by Henry Tudor. His remains were found a couple of years ago in Leceister, in a car park. I have been to Leicester and visited the battlefield, but I now want to see the tomb honoring Richard, and also take a Ricardian route through northern England. Scotland, Wales, and Ireland too. And I’d love to dive in Cornwall. I love Cornwall.
In other words, I want to go everywhere. I would love to do a Christmas cruise through Europe for the Christmas markets! I know my readers would love to hear about all of these trips, and I would so love to inform them about the locations. I would be in photographic heaven! Oh! Let’s not forget the Exumas, and Bahamas…I want to dive with sharks! I forgot the Maldives, Hong Kong, and New Zealand. The Amalfi Coast! Lake Como! Venice! Florence! Sienna! And the Alhambra in Spain. The Costa Brava. The French countryside and beaches. Ghosts in Bordeaux.
Where would my readers like to go?? What is your dream trip?

Wow, you already have so many trips already planned. You asked for my dream trip: I would love to do a southern points RTW trip. Patagonia, Cape Town, Maldives, Perth, Tasmania, Melbourne, NZ, South Pacific islands, Galapagos, with Antarctica in there somewhere. Then the following week I will,,, Just kidding.
Travel Happy!

That sounds like a fabulous trip! Except for Cape Town, I haven’t been to those places. Lots of dive possibilities in there!

OMG! You make the whole world sound exciting. I never thought of planning more than one trip at a time and it’s usually to the Jersey shore -although this year I am going to see my son who lives in Germany. And I am so excited.

I love Germany! Bavaria is so BEAUTIFUL. You must go there! It is the Germany of legends…where the gods walk: Thor, and Loki, and all the fairy tales happened in the Black Forest!

You wont’ regret Morocco or the Christmas markets–really fun trips for us. And India was fabulous. I love your list of ideas!

Me, too….I just have to figure out how to get there!

O.M.G…..first off, where do you get the energy. As Billy Crystal said “I’ll have what she’s having” ๐ I think all the trips sound amazing, all in their own way. I also like that you are mixing it up, and not doing all dive trips. Your sense of adventure is intoxicating and encouraging to the rest of us. Keep it up, with all the great pictures.
p.s. I do hope you get up close and personal with the mega Manta and whale sharks.

When I go somewhere, I am always excited…I guess the excitement gives me energy once I get there! I would love to get to Europe this year…

Heading to Lake Tahoe in less than a week for a little play time (gambling!).

Sounds like you already have some great trips planned! We’re doing a Viking Ocean Cruise to the Mediterranean, I’m heading to Dayton, Ohio for the Erma Bombeck conference and can’t wait to meet you at the Women in Travel Summit. The rest of the year is TBD – and planning is half the fun!

My hometown, Lois, is Dayton, Ohio! I believe Erma was from there as well…Phil Donahue and Martin Sheen were also Daytonians. I would adore doing one of the Christmas cruises. Amazing!

Wow, you have some exciting trips planned. I always enjoy your photos! I always admire your bravery to swim with the big fishies!

In another life under different circumstances I would love doing what you’re doing. So go for it. Your plans sound amazing as you are, and your photos are outstanding. I’d love to go to all of those places. All. Wondering how you make it happen. Don’t mean to pry, just curious. Oh, how I’d love to travel. Good for you, Tam.

I’m trying to do as much as I can, while I can. My back and joint pain are getting worse, so I am trying to get all of the big fish in! I went diving with a lady in her 70s in St Lucia. I want that to be me! I want to go to them all too….I’m working on trying to make it happen!

There are still so many places I want to go!!!

Wow. I think you should go on safari in Africa. I went in 2003 and it was a life changing experience that I did with my now husband.
Tam Warner
I’ve done several safaris and you are right….they are life changing. And it reminds us of what we have to lose if we all don’t start pitching in to help.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I read here often but have never commented! As my son always says, “I want to go everywhere”. I’ve traveled extensively in the US and Canada, but have yet to go overseas. Your planned trips for the year sound wonderful!
Tam Warner
Thanks! Why haven’t you left the good ol’ USA?
