Vacation like a millionaire, baby! Once, just once, wouldn’t it be nice to see how the other half lives? And not by standing close by and watching from a distance. We want to sip champagne and mingle with the stars and do everything the mega-rich does. In normal life, it’s unattainable unless you have a couple of million bucks under the mattress. Oh, where did that come from?! However, you can get a taste of the good life on vacation. After all, it’s expensive but short. So, below are the tips on how to vacation like a millionaire. Maybe after this, you’ll upgrade to billionaire status!
Forget A Hotel
The one percent doesn’t spend their time in luxury hotels. That’s so 2000. No, they rent out luxury villas and condos for privacy. It’s hard for the paps to take snaps when they’re not allowed on the adjoining beach. The good news is you can do this without breaking the bank. Don’t worry because you’ll still get your taste of luxury. Airbnb has plenty of high brow apartments and accommodation which you can rent for an affordable rate. Even better, the price is low when a few people share the facilities. If you prefer a hotel, try booking one at the last minute.

Choose A Reclusive Spot
When you went on your last vacation, did you see Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes strutting around town? Were the Beckhams enjoying a meal in a local restaurant? Was Brad Pitt sipping cocktails in the same bar? The answers are no, no and no because the rich and famous don’t mix with regular people. Instead, they go to spots such as Kohanaiki were they know they won’t be bothered. Honolulu is for typical holidaymakers whereas this secluded spot is for the mega-rich. There are plenty of places like this so pick one and find accommodation asap.
Hire A Jet
Millionaires travel in style. They don’t stand in airport lines with the riff-raff because they have the money to avoid these scenarios. It’s much easier to walk straight onto a private jet and recline in comfort before landing at the destination. Your very own plane will seem out of reach, and it is if you’re looking to buy. However, a lease isn’t overly expensive. SuiteDeals has some jets priced as low as $550, which is around $100pp. Sometimes, it’s cheaper than booking a seat on a budget airline and that makes it a no-brainer.

Go Off Peak
If all of the above still sounds like it will break the bank, there is one last option: the offseason. Everything is cheaper when it isn’t during the peak times. From meals at five-star restaurants to an apartment complex in Panaji, it’s about half the price. And, it’s not as if the uber-wealthy don’t travel out of season. Thanks to their flexible lifestyles, they can go on vacation whenever they want, whether it’s the height of summer of mid-winter. After all, everything’s the same in December as July.
Is the good life accessible? Can you finally get a glimpse of the vacation action?

You don’t have to be…but it’s nice to feel like you are!

Good tips! We rented a villa once in Bonaire; it was wonderful to have our own little bit of beach and a gorgeous house to ourselves. A step up would be a villa with staff, which we didn’t have! It never would have occurred to me to hire a jet, though: literally jetset!

ha ha, yes! if you have others in your group it is doable!

It’s so easy now to take advantage of “luxury” amenities for a fraction of the cost. I’ve yet to try a fractional jet but I’d sure be up for it! Who doesn’t want to live like a millionaire?
