Go romantic in Orlando

Maybe romanticism isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Orlando, home to some of the largest amusement parks in the world. However, this city can offer so much more, especially for those couples celebrating their love.

If you are looking to do something special with that special someone, you’ll be surprised by the wide variety of attractions and entertainment venues in Orlando” that can turn out to be perfect for a romantic date.  The city’s parks and gardens, dreamy dinning and beautiful scenarios are the perfect scenario for a marriage proposal, a birthday, an anniversary or for simply celebrating the fact of being together. It is surprising how more and more people plan to visit Orlando as a couple; this is why I decided to share some ideas for couples, boyfriend and girlfriend to be, for the spouses and in general, for those who want to come to Orlando in a romantic mood.

Now, here’s a really pertinent piece of advice. If you are going on a romantic or celebration date, it is really awkward to be relying on public transport; between you and me, that would kill the magic instantly.  My recommendation is to book a car rental in Orlando and have the peace of mind that you can go anywhere at your own peace and with over-all style. There plenty of options to meet your needs.

Visit the Orlando natural parks

What would you think of walking hand in hand with your boo after having a lovely picnic in a beautiful, lush Park? Well, Orlando has a lot of those.

One of my favorites is Lake Eola Park, a true oasis in the heart of downtown Orlando. Here you can rent one of those swan-shaped rowing boats and navigate the lake with your beloved while watching the sunset. Right at this time the park’s fountain is turned so you can and you can enjoy a marvelous water show along with nice music.

Another great option would be Harry P. Leu Gardens. Each first Friday of each month, they present Date Night at Leu Gardens, an experience of outdoor movies on the grass. You can bring a blanket, something to eat and snuggle up. Also, the park is full of tropical plants and there is an art exhibition worthy of checking out.

If you are a little more adventurous the Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park has some challenging routes going through a fun series of obstacles that are suspended among the trees of a forest in Kissimmee. The challenge ends with a suspended rope that extends along 425 feet in the air.  You will feel that you are accomplishing a great challenge together Tarzan style!

A Romantic Dinner

A dinner served with a good bottle of wine in a lovely atmosphere is a classic for all couples looking for a good plan, and Orlando has some excellent options that will definitely exceed expectations.

If you’re up for exclusivity and you want to give your babe the dinner of her/his life, Norman’s in 4012 Central Florida Pkwy, is the one for you. The restaurant chef/owner, Norman Van Aken, is arguably one of Florida’s most celebrated chefs so yes, it’s a fancy place, and it’s pricey but hey, what says “I love you” more than an extravagant dinner?

The classic Victorian elegance of Victoria & Albert’s Restaurant makes it also an asserted option to celebrate romance. The restaurant is set in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at Lake Buena Vista offering cuts of meats, the freshest seafood, and the best tasting aged wine combined with top tier white glove service, among many others marvels. From decor to service to food, this is quite an experience!

Who knows better about romance than the French? Chez Vincent puts plenty of amour on the air with their chic atmosphere and Coquilles St. Jacques (a dish of scallops usually served with a wine sauce). The little café is set in 533 W New England Ave, Winter Park, and it will definitely beckon thoughts of Paris while you dine with your boo.

Love from the air

How about surprising your date with a hot air balloon ride? You can wake up early, take a serene cruise over Central Florida’s diverse landscape and see Orlando with eagle eyes as the sun rises and you float above the city. There are plenty of hot air balloon companies in Orlando that offer great deals for a safe romantic ride that can include videos, photos and champagne, what beats that kind of romanticism?

Some of the most prestigious options include Aerostat Adventures, LLC in Florida Plaza Boulevard, Kissimmee offering Hot air balloon rides in the Orlando and Kissimmee area for over 18 years with the most the most experienced certified pilots. Magic Sunrise Ballooning is also one of the premier balloon operators in Central Florida, operating continuously since 1987, and one of the oldest hot air balloon ride operators in the area. Another great option and very reliable is Orlando Balloon Rides in 5010 US-27, Clermont, a fully licensed and insured company that invites you to view Florida as you’ve never seen before!

 Disney also offers a lot!!

If you want some classic romance, you can’t forget visiting the largest touristic resort in Orlando. At first glance, it might not look like it but Walt Disney World resort has many romantic sites where marriage proposals, weddings or just for special outings can turn out epic. Watch the night fireworks show that emerge from Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom, you can enjoy a float ride along the Sassagoula River coast at the very elegant Port Orleans Resort or travel around the world on a night at the Epcot’s World Showcase, where you can share a plate of crepes in France and then go to Morocco to dance to the music of North Africa and the Middle East. Disney has no waste when it comes to romanticism, so don’t miss it!!

Remember Orlando is huge so distances from one place to another can be considerable, don’t forget to get your car rental so you can enjoy all these lovely options in total comfort.
