It is Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, and unfortunately, the “fantastic” and “scary” (and sometimes untrue) takes precedence, so I thought I’d show you some of the sharks I have known and loved! I had an overly exciting minute with a Great White, but other than that, my experiences with sharks have been of awe, but not fear. They really are not the man eating, evil creatures depicted on most of shark week. I promise!
These are just a few of my photos, I’ve seen other species, but sometimes they just have not been close enough for a decent photo. I have never seen any of these sharks display aggression to humans, including the Great Whites. The cage incident was an accident, not an “attack”, check out my Close Encounter with a Great White. We NEED our sharks in our oceans. They are a necessary part of the food chain. It’s very important to protect them! Check out the Shark Alliance!

You cannot be freaked out by nurse sharks or whale sharks. Whale Sharks are the largest fish in the ocean, beautiful, and gentle. Not a bit of harm to be had. Nurse sharks are good, you just don’t grab their tail or anything. But whale sharks are very special!
