AMAZING Monterey Bay, Sea Lions, and my Deep Love of the Ocean!

When traveling in Monterey Bay, California there are three things that you MUST do. Whale Watching, of course, is number one! Two is kayaking in the bay! Third is a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. On my October trip I went kayaking in the bay for the first time, and I cannot wait to do it again. I saw sea lions and otters, but sadly, no whales on kayak. Next time! Thank you to Monterey Bay Whale Watch for a wonderful trip!

An incredible shot by Jodi Frediani of a White Sided Pacific Dolphin. There were many of them, all around our boat. We went with Monterey Bay Whale Watch. You can see incredible photos on their Facebook Page!

Alas, my photos are not quite up to snuff, but we were surrounded by Risso dolphins! They are the largest of animals called “dolphin”.

Sea Lions everywhere in the Marina!
Another incredible photo by Jodi Frediani of Monterey Bay Whale Watch. What could be more precious than these adorable sea otters?
Headed out of the harbour
Although blurry, I have to post this quick shot of a Sperm Whale’s fluke! They are rarely sighted, and appeared to be hunting squid for almost 3 weeks in the Bay. A very exciting sighting!

The Whale Watching Trip was great, we both went.
Kayaking the Bay brought me face to face with some interesting personalities!
The rocks were full of barking sea lions! I did take a movie but the motion of the boat would make you ill to watch it!
Here they are, just floating around!
A little float time on their backs with friends.
I do love to kayak, especially when there are fun otters in the water!
My friend Jill loves to kayak with critters, too!
How I love their cute faces and whiskers!!!
Don’t forget to kayak Monterey Bay, it is fantastic!
