I Spent a Delicious Night in Las Vegas with Amazing Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay! Are you a fan of the Food Network? My husband, Randy and I enjoy watching Beat Bobby Flay.
Neither of us cook because we hate to cleanup, but Randy has always loved watching cooking shows. Until I started watching Beat Bobby Flay with him, I did not understand how anyone could be interested in watching people cook, but I found the show fascinating, probably because it has a competitive aspect to it. If you’ve never seen it, two chefs compete against each other to compete against Bobby Flay, a celebrity chef who owns several restaurants. Of course, Bobby wins most of the time. On a recent trip to Las Vegas, I began to understand why celebrity chefs become celebrities!
Amalfi, a Bobby Flay restaurant, is in the Caesar’s Palace casino. When I discovered it before the trip, I immediately made a reservation. I knew Randy would love to dine there as much as I would. The food is based on recipes from the Amalfi Coast in Italy, a location Bobby Flay is known to love. Needless to say, Bobby did not disappoint us! My delicious night in Las Vegas with Amazing Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay was perfect.
The decor of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, but the star of the night was the food. It was amazing. We started with Bufalo Mozzarella on Charred Lemon Leaves, Bobby’s take on Caprese Salad. It was light and prepared to perfection.
Our second course was Bobby’s Chopped Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette. I have never had a salad so incredible! We ate every bite of it, and we added Focaccia Bread to it as well. I’m not much of a foodie/chef and cannot describe the flavors and tastes of food like some of my foodie blogger friends, but I can say it was absolutely the best salad I have ever eaten. I wish I were a good enough cook to make it at home, but I doubt I’ll be able to. I am certainly going to try!
The trays being served around us were aromatic, but I admit I was so full of salad I couldn’t finish my main course. I had Snapper, and Bobby’s famous Crispy Potatoes. I am a potato fiend, while growing up my parents constantly remarked that when I grew up I’d become a French Fry. I could not put a dent in them. They take a baked potato, cut it up, then deep fry it. It is truly a meal in itself! Randy had one of his favorites, Chicken Parmigiano.
We split a lemon tarte, by then we were so full it seemed almost impossible to finish it, but we managed. Our experience at Amalfi was one of the best meals of our lives. Certainly, it was one of the best of mine! Our Vegas trip this year was mostly a disaster, but Amalfi was the highlight! If you are headed to Las Vegas, be sure to spend a delicious night with Amazing Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay!
