A Path through Rome, a Travel Treasure Hunt for Your Family! Several years ago, it must be over ten years now, (can that be possible)….??? Anyway, Randy and I took our teenage children on their first trip to Rome. Dan Brown’s novel Angels and Demons (he is famous for the Da Vinci Code) was a favorite book of mine at the time, and my son also loved it. The history, the symbology, secret societies…Dan Brown does it well, and my son and I love our fiction mixed with history, truth and a little mysticism. I decided that Wesley, my son, would lead us on our path around the Eternal City. If you are not familiar with Angels and Demons, it is predicated on the ancient secret society, The Illuminati, and their secret great artist who created the Illuminati Ambigrams with the scientific elements embossed upon them. In the book, Bernini was the secret artist. [Read more…] about A Path through Rome, a Travel Treasure Hunt for Your Family!
Fab Photos Friday: A Book of Christmas
I love making movies, books, working on photos….and I especially love making my family memory books. This year, I will be making a book for my children (they probably don’t read this so I think I am safe) about our Christmas ornaments. It occurred to me that I am the only one with the knowledge of where these precious ornaments came from! So, I want to pass it down! Here are some of the items that are going in the book:
How do you keep the memory of your holiday ornaments alive?
Fab Photos Friday: Fall has arrived…in the north!
I admit that I miss autumn in the north. Living in Texas, you don’t see very much color. There is something just not right about hayrides in 90 degree heat! I just returned from a trip through Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, where the foilage is beautiful, the temperatures are cool, and the caramel apples are awesome. Enjoy!
Happy Halloween!
Fab Photos Friday: Chihuly Glass Exhibit
Who doesn’t love Chihuly’s glass? I’ve never met a person who said they didn’t like it. It really is gorgeous, and so fluid. There is a great exhibit right now at the William J Clinton Jr Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. So much of it reminds me of marine life….clams, mollusks, shells….enjoy the beauty of Chihuly!
Fab Photos Friday: the Art of Chicago Part 1
I love Chicago. If you have been there, you know what I mean! Yes, it is too cold to live there (at least for me!), but I’ll take many more visits! I went to the Art Institute, and saw Marc Chagall’s White Crucifixion in person. I absolutely love Chagall’s work, and am fortunate to have some of his Lithographs. Seeing this work in person, up close, was incredibly moving, and exciting, and I could hardly drag myself away. Chicago’s Art Institute is a marvel, but the city, by itself, is art as well.
Next week, more art!
