5 tips to avoid weight gain on your Holiday Getaway

Watching your diet for the whole year and reversing all that hard work during the holidays is a reality for almost everyone. No matter how carefully you watch your weight, just a few holidays can put to waste all those moments of observing carefully what you eat. Holidays are conducive to gaining weight. For one, you aim to derive maximum pleasure from the few off-days that you have from work. This means that you intend to spend most of your time trying not to move much and stuffing your mouth with whatever you can. Moreover, though this sedentary lifestyle is punctured by some moments of you going out with your friends, that too involves going to all the famous eateries you did not find time to go. Even if one is not at home and is travelling to their favorite holiday destination, they would still find it difficult to keep their weight in check. After all, when you go to a new place, you want to experience it to the maximum, and that experience involves trying out food that is part of the culture of the place you are at. Hence, during the holidays, it becomes really difficult for one to maintain their weight.

Considering that we are less than a month away from our favorite time of the year, the Christmas and New Year holidays, it is better to be apprised of ways to keep away that holiday fat. Here are five ways to avoid weight gain on your holiday getaway.

1) Be physically active
Exercising during the holidays is not the most exciting thing to do. Who would want to exercise when you want to be relaxing in the cozy warmth of your home while the Christmas snow falls outside? Or if you are travelling to some place for the holidays, you would be looking forward to exploring and experiencing the new place instead of exercising. But there are ways to enjoy your holidays and exercise at the same time. Try renting bicycles and going cycling to explore the area you are in. Not only will it be fun, but it is also a way to shed those extra calories that you have acquired.

2) Grab a bite before dinners
During the holiday season or while you are on your holiday getaway, you will have many invitations for dinner or would have many places where you would want to go to ease your taste buds. There is a way you can keep yourself to just tasting the food instead of eating till you’re full. Before going out to dinner, grab a small bite; a fruit would do. This way when you are about to eat, you are not hungry to the extent that you want to gobble everything in sight.

3) Don’t miss the morning meal
On a holiday it is not unusual to skip breakfast during holidays. Holidays usually involve sleeping late, waking up past midday and going straight to lunch. Though you have missed a meal, it does not lead to one losing weight, as instead of eating less, missing breakfast makes people starve and leads to them eating more during the day than if they had not missed breakfast.

4) A glass of water does wonders
When you arrive at a party, it is better than before you start off with the food, you drink a glass of water. Ever noticed how when you start with a glass of water, you eat less. This is because you sometimes confuse thirst with hunger, and hence drinking water causes your ‘hunger’ to reduce and makes you realize that you were not hungry in the first place.

5) Use medication
You may not have avenues for physical activity where you have gone for holiday, or you may not want to stress yourself about whether you can eat before a big meal or if you will be able to get up early for breakfast. You can take the easy way out by opting for weight loss supplements. These weight loss supplements, available at Click Pharmacy, are an effective treatment as they work to reduce the amount of fat absorbed into the body from food. The treatment involves you taking the medicine three times a day after a meal, which works by preventing your body from absorbing the fat that you have ingested in the particular meal. Thus, you can have peace of mind and can eat as you will, because the medicine will weave its magic to prevent you from gaining any weight.
